Comments!

Okay, I think the comments are working. I can leave comments, but it's not really that exciting to only get comments from myself... so, leave me a comment!

Mardi Gras DFW style

We didn't take too many pictures. It was CRAZY & good fun was had by all. If we would have taken more pictures I would have had to brush up on my photoshop skills, it was Mardi Gras after all. No, not me, get your mind out of the gutter, I came home with ZERO beads, thank you very much. But, some girls probably woke up Sunday afternoon not so proud of their rather large bead collection... anyways, that soapbox rant makes me feel old & teachery, what they do with their boobs is their business, who am I to judge their poor judgement. I will say Brother & his friends keep hours that are much different than my own & it took me till Wednesday to recover from the lack of sleep, Oh to be in college again... here is a tiny sampling of G -rated pictures from Mardi Gras DFW. Enjoy...

happy hours, valentines & room redos...

Sorry these are so long. I'm only finding about 1 night a week to update so you get lots of info. Either you can read it or you can just look at the pictures, your choice...

Friday the 13th just happened fall on the Friday before Valentine's. All my teacher friends knows what that means...the awesome, wonderful, exciting, stupendous Valentine's Party. (maybe I went over the top on the adjectives.) Fourth graders are starting the "boy/girl phase" which makes Valentine's SOOOO exciting for some of them, it also makes their teachers want to pull out all of their gray hairs by 8:00am. Don't get me wrong I L-O-V-E my kiddos this year but there is just so much "can I pass out my Valentine's", "What time does the party start", "Can we eat our chocolates now" "Is it 1:45 yet" that a person can take before they want to stab an eyeball out... My favorite conversation of the day went a little something like this....

Mrs. Crews, calmly to 4th grade student @ 7:30am: "Um...why is your tongue bright blue?"
Student, bouncing up & down @ 7:31am:"Oh, um, yeah, um...my mom said I could have my extra Valentine's Fun Dips with my breakfast...yeah."
Mrs. Crews, not as calmly: "So you ate a Fun Dip for breakfast?"
Student, balancing on 1 leg & bouncing: "Umm, well, umm, yeah, kinda...I ate 2 Fun Dips..."
Mrs. Crews: "Fabulous..."

That is how my day started...Needless to say many adults were due for a trip to the patio by 3:00. Good times were had (nothing too crazy, we aren't in college anymore)...

Fair warning, I just realized that it looks like I'm not wearing any eye make up, but I promise I am...My eyes are kind of blending into the rest of my face... weird...

We are missing 2 more girls... They checked out early. I'm not giving the names of anyone the picture to protect the innocent or not so innocent.

Our waiter was HILARIOUS & mildly (wait, maybe extremely) inappropriate. We were having a great girls night...until...

My phone was attacked... Miller Light & cell phones don't mix. :o( The accident actually happened about 20 minutes after we arrived, so no... It's not what you think.
It really was accident...
I was so bummed at first, (it didn't work AT ALL) I really NEED my phone, it is very important to me, I hold it near & dear to my heart/ear. I knew I wasn't eligible for an upgrade & I really didn't think that I could talk Brock into an iphone, even though I desperately wanted one...I just new I would end up with some stupid, crappy, cheap phone. I'm just not the cheap phone type. But...(after some begging) Brock said that I could have an iphone as early birthday present. (March 25th in case you forgot) YippeeSkippy!!!!!!! I started looking at all the awesome apps, I found a background, I was in love with a phone. Then...my other phone started working...suck....call me a brat, I don't care. I was so over my other phone & had already committed to my iphone... bummed doesn't even describe it. Good thing my birthday is next month.

On another note... I did get Valentine's flowers...awww....
They actually came on Friday while at school so I could so them off, he knows me well. :o)
Saturday Brock had to work, so I did some work that didn't have anything to do with school, hallelujah!
A friend of mine asked if I could make up some shower invites for a friend of hers. I really like playing in Photoshop. I'm not done, the fonts aren't quite right & some of the details aren't done, but you get the idea. No, I'm not getting paid, yet. Maybe some day. Hint, Hint...

We went to Blue Canyon for dinner & then we saw He Just Not That Into You. Dinner was good, movie was good. Valentine's might be over rated, but it's a good excuse for flowers.

Then, on Sunday I redid my scraproom & the guest room. When we got the new master bedroom furniture we moved our old bed into the guest room & we moved the itty bitty twin from the guest room into my scraproom. Both rooms were a MESS until yesterday. Brother & some of his friends are coming to town this weekend for Mardi Gras. I don't think the guys'll care much but I think the rooms look pretty good. Especially since I spent $28.00. Score!

There is a lot of furniture in the scraproom now. I think it works. I don't want to get rid of any of it. We might need it some day & it gives me more places to store scrap stuff. I love scrap stuff...

Can I just say that twin beds are TINY! The bed is supposed to be an after thought in this room so I pushed in over in the corner. I can still get to everything that I need & it's not in the way. All I bought in here was the little lamp on the night stand. I'll probably add something to the shade eventually but for right now it works.

Montana approves. :o)

All I bought in here is the bed skirt. Everything else is a hogpog(sp) of stuff that we had.
I think I want to stay home, decorate & make invitations on the computer. Any one willing to match my salary?

My little slice of heaven...

Where I spend my free time (haha)... One of the awesome things about our new house (almost 2 years now) is that it has a study & 2 extra bedrooms. That means Brock gets his space & I get mine & we still have a guest room. I finally finished my scrap room this past summer, but seeing that most people back home don't ever come down to see us (guilt trip much) I thought I would post pictures....

These pics are from the summer right after I finished it, I realize now that they don't show the rug or the window or some of the other details. I would take more, but it doesn't look like the pictures right now. It has all the bedroom furniture that we moved out of our room...2 tall dressers, a bookcase, a nightstand, the twin bed out of the guest room...it is a MESS.... hopefully I'll get to some of that today. Happy Saturday. :o)

Canton, Puppy Bowl, Super Bowl, 30 Day Shred & the Plague...

Sorry, this is going to be a long post today...We've had a lot going on in the last week or so. The ice storm of 2009 passed & things went back to normal-ish. Saturday Brock had to work & it was BEAUTIFUL outside so I decided go to Canton. I LOVE Canton. I think I'm going to go every month, it makes me happy.

I buy things like these... big, SPARKLY jewelry, more sparkles for the house, a big bowl of a thing for the kitchen table, raw , wooden crosses that I will paint someday.

Sunday was the Super Bowl, which means the Puppy Bowl, too. Montana is fascinated with animals on TV.

He will sit & watch.

He'll run up & try to sniff them & play with them...

And he will whine & cry & grunt... it's hilarious, it never gets old...

We went to Super Bowl party with some friends. All of which have kids. I think I got my baby/kid fix for awhile. This picture only shows a few of the children, there were seven. Don't get me wrong, I love them all, but I also love that they all went home with someone other than us.

This one might be my favorite... I love him to pieces...itty bitty pieces... C man is a year old today.

This little guy is pretty cool, too, I love these guys... It's big B & little B (he's showing you his muscles), little B is "3 quarters" which means, 2 & 3/4... it's really hard to get a picture of someone who is "3 quarters" when there are 6 other kids running around...

But when 4 of the kids leave little B gets calmer, he evens meditates... while watching football...on the piano bench...

And then he sleeps... so sweet... & quite...

Remember how I said that we are going to take a vacation this summer? Our first real vacation since our honeymoon. We've been places but they all involved the Cowboys, weddings or watching Colter race. My definition of vacation includes relaxing, relaxing and more relaxing. I'm not the touristy type, I do plenty at home. I want to go somewhere & do nothing where I won't feel guilty doing nothing... Hopefully we will be doing a whole lot of nothing here...

Well, a vacation here requires a person to wear a swimsuit. We aren't currently in any shape for that, so we've started... (yes, both of us) it's a bonding experience...

Yes, that is the lady from the Biggest Loser, and she is mean... she is mean on the show & she is mean in the DVD player... This fun 20 minute workout is a killer. I thought "sweet, I can do 20 minutes, how hard can this be?" Twenty minutes of HELL everyday for 30 days. Every 10 days you move up a level, there are 3 levels...right now we are on day 3 of level one...ugh...so sore... I yelled bad words at Miss Jillian yesterday...she is mean.
Today I have time to blog because I was home most of the day... I was afraid I had the plague (the flu). My school is contaminated with the flu, like more than 100 kids out everyday this week, contaminated... & I woke up with a HORRIBLE headache & nausea, the symptoms that most people at school have had....Fabulous. I toughed out getting ready, told my self over & over that I wouldn't throw up in the car & made it to school. See, teachers don't have the kind of job where you call your boss & say "hey, I'm sick, I'm not coming..." I lasted a whole hour before they sent me home.
But, I don't have the plague (PRAISE GOD!) after some pain meds, sinus meds & a day long nap I feel MUCH better. Hopefully that's all it was, now if my ears would unplug I would be awesome. I feel like I'm wearing ear muffs...trivial compared to having the flu. Brock is struggling too. Sore throat, cough...yuck. That being said we won't be having our date with Miss Jillian tonight...oh darn it...
